Second Foundation is a member of several community and professional organizations. Our
participation guarantees our clients that we maintain the high standards of these organizations.
We feel it is our duty to demonstrate to our clients that we are responsible, not only to them, but
also to the various regional, provincial, and national professional organizations to which we belong.
The Kitchener & Waterloo Chamber of Commerce serves
businesses in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario and acts as a voice in the betterment of the community. It strives to
foster and support private enterprise, economic vitality and stability, and to act as an advocate of business with government.
The Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce
is a voluntary partnership of more than 1,600 industries, businesses, professional firms and individuals that have joined
together to build a healthy economy and improve the quality of life in the Durham community.
Communitech is the partnership of technology
and service companies, educational institutions, and all levels of
government working together effectively to bring real enterprise to Canada's Technology Triangle of Cambridge,
Guelph, Kitchener, and Waterloo, and the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.
Several of our staff members are affiliated with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) and
the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO). The CICA,
together with the provincial and territorial
institutes of chartered accountants, conducts research into current business issues and sets accounting and
auditing standards for business, not-for-profit organizations, and government. It issues guidance on control
and governance, publishes professional literature, develops education programs, and represents the CA profession
nationally and internationally.
Our staff members are affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The AICPA,
together with the state and other affiliated institutes of chartered accountants, conducts research into current
business issues and sets accounting and auditing standards for business, not-for-profit organizations, and
government. It issues guidance on control and governance, publishes professional literature, develops education
programs, and represents the CPA profession nationally and internationally.
Several of our staff members are affiliated with the Canadian Association of
Management Consultants (CAMC). The CAMC is the national body representing 3,500 Individual and Firm Members.
Established in 1963, the CAMC's mission is to foster excellence in management consulting services. The CAMC's
main objectives are to ensure that Canadian management consultants are able to compete effectively in a
constantly changing marketplace, and to ensure that Canadian organizations have access to increasingly
effective management consulting services.
Several members of our staff are Certified General
Accountants (CGA). As a self-governing professional organization,
the Society is in the forefront in developing the relevancy of management accounting and the professional
qualifications and continuing competency of CGAs. There are more than XX,XXX CGAs across Canada who add
value to their employers by providing leadership, innovation and an integrating perspective for organizational decision making.
The Canadian Payroll Association provides leadership
through advocacy and education. Their events, products, and services help business professionals enhance payroll
operations, meet new legislative and regulatory requirements, address changing work place needs, and take
advantage of emergent technologies.
The Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario is a
not-for-profit professional association whose services are designed to provide leadership, assistance and education
to people working and studying in the field of human resources.
International Association for Human Resources Information Management
The International Association for Human Resources Information Management strives to be the leading global
source of knowledge for the application of human resource information and technology to improve organizational
effectiveness. IHRIM is a central network for its members to gain access and in-depth knowledge about HR
information management and systems issues, trends, and technology.
The iCON Sales and Marketing Club is the area's Marketing Association. The focus of the Club is to provide a setting that encourages personal and professional development. Their mission is to promote sales and marketing excellence within the community, through information, association and recognition. Formerly the KW Sales & Ad Club, iCON is always growing and welcomes new businesses into their membership. iCON's activities carry into the community with such endeavors as hosting iCON Advertising Awards, iCON Retailer Awards and sponsoring Junior Achievement.
